Hey there movie enthusiasts! Guess who’s back after a five-year hiatus? Our favourite director, Rajkumar Hirani, has teamed up with the one and only Shah Rukh Khan for a new flick, and it’s time for some heartfelt storytelling.
Hirani, known for his knack for drawing us into the narrative with pure storytelling magic, doesn’t rely on flashy dialogues or over-the-top VFX. Instead, he weaves tales that tug at our heartstrings. In this latest venture, “Dunki,” the journey begins in Punjab and takes us on a global adventure from London to the Middle East.
Shah Rukh Khan, the main attraction, plays Hardy Singh, who stumbles upon a bunch of dreamers longing to reach London. Despite being born in India, their hearts skip a beat at the mention of Big Ben. The path to London, however, is no cakewalk. It involves challenging tests and exams, pushing the team to learn English for that crucial visa.
In the first half, Hirani ensures the supporting cast shines, with Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu, Anil Grover, and Vikram Kochher delivering stellar performances. The humor is classic Hirani—feel-good and down-to-earth.
Now, for the friendly feedback: The second half of “Dunki” takes a bit of a dip. The plot loses some steam, and the humour doesn’t hit the mark as strongly. The climax, unfortunately, doesn’t quite match up to Hirani’s usual standards. It feels a tad lengthy, with scenes dragging a bit too much in an attempt to amp up the emotional quotient.
Dunki Movie Review
Despite these hiccups, “Dunki” may not reach the heights of Hirani’s masterpieces like “3 Idiots” or “PK,” but it still manages to entertain. As you leave the theatre, you’ll likely have that warm and fuzzy feeling. And, hey, what better way to wrap up the year than with SRK charming us on the silver screen once again? Cheers to that! 🍿🌟
