When I visited, I travelled by bike as there didn’t seem to be any bus service available that would get you there on time. If you’re planning a visit, it’s best to use your vehicle.

Travel Experience By Road 

Before planning a trip to Kottapara Hilltop, it is important to note that the road experience involves driving on 30 km of fine road followed by another 30 km of off-road terrain. It is advised to drive carefully on the off-road section as the roads in Kerala are narrow. However, off-road riders will have the best experience on this trip. After travelling 35 km, you will be surrounded by nature which will give you a wonderful feeling. Don’t forget to bring a jacket to keep yourself warm in the chilly weather. Stay safe while driving. 

Best Time to Visit 

I suggest reaching the destination before 7 a.m. if you plan on visiting this place. Otherwise, you will miss out on the beautiful view from the hilltop. If you arrive on time, you will feel like you are in heaven. From the hilltop, you can see the clouds below you and inhale fresh oxygen. The best time of year to visit for this view is from July to December. 

Is there a parking facility available at Kottapara Hill View Point?

Kottapara Hill View Point is one of the best small hill viewpoints, and it offers parking facilities free of cost. Visitors can bring their vehicles up to the hilltop without any parking payments.

How is the road condition of the hill ride?

The hill is small, and visitors can reach the hilltop with just five turns. However, there are a few little hairpin bends that require careful driving as the road is slightly damaged at these bends.

Are any kind of shops available here?

Yes, there are two shops available for visitors where they can buy snacks and tea. It is advisable to visit the hilltop before 7 a.m. to enjoy the wonderful view. During that time, visitors can get a great cup of tea from these shops.

Kottapara Hill Top is a must-visit tourist spot. However, it looks even more amazing during the right season. Kottapara is a small viewpoint located in Kerala. We can witness the passing clouds from July to December, and also experience the beautiful sunrise before 7 a.m.

2. Wear a jacket to keep warm in the cold weather.

3. Be prepared to ride on rough terrain.
