The Kodiveri Dam Waterfalls are located 50 km from Erode and make for a wonderful family trip. In this article, I will share my experience and give some tips for your visit.
My Trip:
I set off from Erode on my bike and reached Kodiveri Dam in just 1.30 hours. The roads were easy to travel and the village roads were well-toned, making for a wonderful ride.
However, some of the roads were under construction, so I advise you to ride carefully in those spots. I started my trip at 11 o’clock as I wanted to enjoy the waterfalls in the afternoon. Public transport is available, but I suggest you bring your vehicle to enjoy more.
Government signboards are available to navigate this place, and I will provide the location link to identify the exact location. Please drive slowly as a large number of vehicles cross the road. Paid parking is available for four and two-wheelers in front of the dam.
What We Explored:
The entry ticket is just 5 rupees per head, which was surprising. By paying that amount, we were able to enter the waterfall dam freely. The sound of the waterfall invites us to enjoy it. Remember to carry your alternate clothes as nearby shops charge more for them.
Travelling by car is better for saving your belongings. I faced difficulties in storing my belongings. I started to enjoy the waterfalls, and the falling water was very clean and cold. It was worth enjoying in the afternoon.
After that, I had an ice cream from a nearby shop, which was wonderful. The falling water relieved some shoulder pains, which was great. Be careful when walking on sloping rocks as some rocks are too slippery.
Eating Fresh Fish:
The local people served fresh fish and rice, which was budget-friendly and tasted good. We enjoyed various types of fish over there. Don’t forget to carry cash as most shops won’t accept online payments.
Boat Ride:
The coracle boat ride will give you another adventure at this spot. They charge 150 per head, and the coracle ride was one of the thrilling experiences at this spot. Coracle boating persons also don’t have online payment, so bring cash for that. This ride was the most fun on this trip.
