Onam is one of the greatest festivals in Kerala, and I was fortunate enough to partake in the Onam Sadhya feast this year. In this article, I will be sharing my personal experience with the delicious meal.
We were served over 15 different dishes on a single banana leaf, all of which were beautifully colourful and satisfying to look at. Our meal began with salt and pickles that made our taste buds crave more food.
I had a delicious vegetarian meal that included Kerala rice and sambar, along with several side dishes such as cabbage, sweet payasam, palada payasam, and more. While I couldn’t recall the name of one dish, I can say that all of them were amazing.

The palada payasam at the feast was delicious. I couldn’t get enough of it and had it three times. It’s a must-try dish in Kerala, but unfortunately only available during certain seasons. If you ever get the chance, definitely give it a try.
